Legal Fees
Clients often fear the expenses associated with legal services. I utilize alternative billing techniques to reduce those anxieties, basing the cost of representation on the value of the services to you. This gives you a better understanding of what your getting and exactly how much it'll cost.
I can do this because I operate as a solo practitioner. Many large law firms put a big emphasis on how many hours their staff is billing per year. Employees are rewarded for billing more, and penalized for not meeting expectations. This creates an incentive for lawyers in those firms to inflate their bills.
Why should time determine how much you pay? After all, isn't it worth more to have something resolvedfaster?
Because I'm free from those artificial billing quotas, I'm able to utilize a number of modern billing techniques to give you a better up-front estimation your costs. This includes flat fees, contingent fees, and combinations of both.
These alternative methods help address the stress of litigation and enable you to make more fully informed decisions.
Initial Consultations
At this time, my initial consultations are free for consumer law matters. For other matters, I charge a flat initial consultation fee.
Bankruptcy Fees
Until I consult with you regarding your specific situation, it is impossible to determine exactly how much a bankruptcy filing will cost. For instance, situations involving a S-corp or limited liability company make the process more complicated, and will sometimes require additional services beyond the bankruptcy filing.
Even so, in most Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases I am able to offer a flat fee rate for the entire bankruptcy representation.
Note that there are a number of costs associated with filing a bankruptcy in addition to the attorney fee, including a filing fee, credit report fee, and credit counseling course fees. These costs are included in my flat fee.
